About the Role

MetLife Investments Technology is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Derivatives technology department. The role involves engaging in hands-on development using the latest AI tools, integrating with Azure Cloud, and supporting legacy modernization efforts within a dynamic product development team. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, collaboration with various business units, and involvement in derivative business support and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in hands-on software development employing Java and Oracle technologies.
  • Participate in legacy modernization efforts and support new business initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with front office traders, middle office, back office users, risk, and compliance partners.
  • Support the derivatives business while learning about exotic derivative products.
  • Utilize AI tools and implement continuous delivery methodologies within a DevSecOps environment.
  • Design and build enterprise-scale applications with a strong technical understanding.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in software development, specifically in implementing Java.
  • Database skills, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and development knowledge, with Oracle preferred.
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Java and Oracle.
  • Understanding of enterprise-scale application development.

Nice to Have

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to establish strong relationships across teams.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Experience with Murex is a big plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial domains, with a preference for Derivatives.
  • Experience with Reference Data, Market Data, and Pricing solutions.
  • Experience with test-driven development and continuous testing.
  • Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, machine learning models, large language models, and conversational AI.
  • Full stack engineering ability with writing object-oriented, maintainable code.

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
