About the Role

The Sr. Group Manager, Emerging Platforms & Social Media Marketing at Hyundai is responsible for leading Hyundai's social media vision, strategy, and execution across established and emerging platforms. This role provides strategic leadership to the HMA Social Marketing team, manages large-scale integrated campaigns, and ensures Hyundai's social presence delivers measurable business impact. The position aims to establish Hyundai as a challenger brand in the digital space, strengthen customer engagement, and translate cultural insights into breakthrough marketing that supports Hyundai's business and brand goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overarching Hyundai social strategy across all platforms, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and KPIs.
  • Evaluate and activate emerging platforms, technologies, and partnerships to keep Hyundai at the forefront of digital culture.
  • Ensure consistent Hyundai brand narrative, voice, and tone across all social initiatives.
  • Develop and approve strategic communications briefs for social marketing campaigns, clearly outlining objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Oversee integrated campaigns with internal teams and external agency partners to ensure creative excellence and executional consistency.
  • Drive development of social-first creative concepts for vehicle launches, tentpoles, and brand campaigns.
  • Lead budgeting and resource allocation for social media and emerging platform initiatives.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources across the social team and agency partners to maximize impact and scalability.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on performance, platform innovations, and industry trends.
  • Translate data and insights into actionable recommendations that inform broader brand and business strategy.
  • Manage and mentor the HMA Social Marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and high performance.
  • Foster cross-team alignment and provide clear guidance to deliver work efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ten plus years of social media and community growth experience required.
  • At least five years of experience managing direct reports and agency workflow required.
  • Ability to manage high-paced environment with multiple projects and agency personnel.
  • Ability to develop strategy and implementation plans for new projects/initiatives.
  • Ability to distill big conceptual ideas into actionable marketing initiatives.
  • Diplomatic and collaborative attitude, able to motivate partners to meet and exceed business expectations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree a plus.
  • At least five years of experience within the automotive industry a plus.
  • Agency and/or related client-side experience a plus.
  • Challenger brand experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree a plus).
  • Ten plus years of social media and community growth experience.
  • Experience managing direct reports and agency workflow for at least five years.

  • Compensation Range: $137,025 - $203,000 annual base salary.
