The role of Senior Manager of Social Media involves leading the club's social media team, managing content distribution across multiple platforms, and collaborating cross-functionally to tell the club's story and engage fans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a comprehensive social strategy that tells the story of the club while engaging fans and reaching new audiences.
  • Manage all club social accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Build, manage, and own a social media content calendar using Monday.com to ensure posting deadlines are met.
  • Orchestrate matchday social coverage.
  • Collaborate with video, photo, editorial, and design teams to create best-in-class social content.
  • Schedule social staff in a way that evenly divides work and supports team culture.
  • Engage in creative ideation with the content team for matchday, partnerships, marketing activations, theme nights, foundation events, preseason, playoffs, and more.
  • Track, moderate, and engage in social conversations.
  • Question existing processes to find efficiencies and improve KPIs.
  • Assist in defining social KPIs and establish a regular reporting cadence.
  • Optimize social content using social analytics to make data-backed decisions.
  • Manage influencer marketing initiatives, track results, and report successes.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience managing an always-on social team, preferably in sports.
  • A portfolio or examples of outstanding social media work.
  • A valid passport.
  • Expertise in managing social media platforms for a sports or entertainment company.
  • Ability to create sustained growth on social platforms and articulate how growth is achieved, tracked, and reported.
  • Understanding of content creation lead times for video, photo, and graphic design.
  • Meticulous organization skills and a deadline-driven mindset.
  • Creative problem solving skills and a solutions-oriented outlook.
  • High-level social copywriting and proofreading skills with consistent brand voice.
  • Experience shooting and editing photo and video content using Slate and Adobe Premiere.
  • Passion for sports, soccer, internet culture, and social media trends.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for matches and events.
  • Familiarity with social platform business tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, X Ad Manager, TikTok for Business).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in sports or entertainment social media management.
  • Track record of creating social growth and ability to report on it.
  • Knowledge of general content creation lead times for video, photo, and graphic design.
  • Experience with shooting and editing social content.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
