Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor an international team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and professional development of team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide weekly constructive feedback to enhance team capabilities.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure that software development processes adhere to industry best practices and quality standards.
  • Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies to improve project delivery and team efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in the development of embedded software features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems and hardware engineers, to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of embedded systems.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to embedded systems and Linux development.
  • Partner closely with Clinical team to drive innovation by identifying opportunities during customer onsites.
  • Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps and strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in embedded Linux development, including proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hardware-software integration.
  • Familiarity with FDA oversight and regulations related to medical device design, including knowledge of design controls, risk management, and compliance with 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • High energy, upbeat, and able to motivate a team of diverse skill levels.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in Agile/Scrum training are a plus

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in software development and leadership roles.
