About the Role

Just Energy is a retail energy provider specializing in electricity and natural gas commodities and bringing energy efficient solutions and renewable energy options to customers. Currently, operating in the United States and Canada, Just Energy serves residential and commercial customers. Just Energy is the parent company of Amigo Energy, Filter Group Inc., Hudson Energy, Interactive Energy Group, Tara Energy and Goodbundle. The company is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analyst to support pricing and structuring activities for its electricity and gas markets by developing and maintaining analytical models, conducting market research, and helping define the company's pricing strategy in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and troubleshoot electricity and gas pricing and analytical models in Excel and SQL
Work closely with IT systems and developers to ensure calculation logic is accurately reflected in automated pricing engines
Build processes and checks to identify data integrity issues or leakage, and create resolution plans
Perform quantitative analysis to track customer behavior and market trends
Review ISO market structures and mechanics to ensure models reflect best practices and corporate views
Interact with Supply, Load Forecasting, Operations, Finance, IT, and Risk teams on cross-functional investigation or research projects
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative analysis or related field
Excellent analytical skills
Strong Excel modeling and VBA skills, and fluency in SQL querying and development
Experience with developing advanced pricing models and risk management related to retail energy is a plus
Strong business acumen, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision-making capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Well-organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
5-10 years of relevant wholesale or retail energy experience

Nice to Have

Experience with developing advanced pricing models and risk management related to retail energy

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative analysis or related field
