Sr. SEO Copywriter

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Write clear, engaging, and optimized content for web pages, articles, and other digital assets.
• Align copy with SEO strategy, brand voice, and customer needs across various segments.
• Conduct research to identify relevant topics based on search trends, customer intent, business priorities, and competitive gaps.
• Use tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or internal data to select high-impact keywords.
• Partner with the SEO lead to define and improve content creation workflows.
• Help establish editorial standards and documentation for SEO copywriting within the team.
• Incorporate feedback from Line of Business partners and compliance reviewers while maintaining SEO integrity.
• Support work of Consultants and work autonomously.
• Draw marketing strategies and insights from analysis, test hypotheses, and recommend strategies based on insights.
• Develop strong business/financial knowledge; understand client strategies and competition.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure awareness and commitment to marketing initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners including business units, analytics, creative services, agencies, compliance, and leadership.
• Follow established marketing processes and manage risks effectively.
• Recognize and escalate potential risks, and maintain control procedures and testing.
• Maintain internal policies and procedures, including updating and drafting training materials.
• Use marketing principles to recommend tactics to achieve marketing and business objectives.
• Assist with designing marketing plans and execution tactics for assigned product lines/segments.
• Perform other duties as assigned, with flexibility for changing responsibilities.
• Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting professionally and ethically at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and digital creative marketing development process.
• Understanding of banking products and segment needs.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar.
• Experience in financial services or banking industry.
• Knowledge of content management systems and editorial workflows.

• Educational background in marketing, business, or related field.

Benefits & Perks

• Eligible for a base salary ranging from $71,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
• Eligibility for short-term and deferred incentive compensation based on performance.
