Sr. SEO Copywriter

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Write clear, engaging, and optimized content for web pages, articles, and other digital assets.
• Align copy with SEO strategy, brand voice, and customer needs across various segments.
• Conduct research to identify relevant topics based on search trends, customer intent, business priorities, and competitive gaps.
• Use tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or internal data to select high-impact keywords.
• Partner with the SEO lead to define and improve content creation workflows.
• Help establish editorial standards and documentation for SEO copywriting within the team.
• Incorporate feedback from Line of Business partners and compliance reviewers while maintaining SEO integrity.
• Support work of Consultants and work autonomously when needed.
• Draw marketing strategies and insights from analysis, test hypotheses, and recommend strategies based on insights.
• Develop strong business/financial knowledge; understand client strategies and competition.
• Demonstrate strong writing skills and creativity in articulating messages that support recommendations.
• Develop and tailor presentations for diverse audiences including Line of Business clients.
• Build relationships with mid to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Use analytical insights and business acumen to influence decisions.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners including analytics, creative services, agencies, compliance, and leadership.
• Follow established marketing processes and manage risks effectively.
• Recognize and escalate potential risks, maintain control procedures, testing, and processes.
• Maintain internal policies and procedures, update training materials as needed.
• Use marketing principles to recommend tactics to achieve marketing and business objectives.
• Assist with designing marketing plans and execution tactics for assigned product lines or segments.
• Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to changing responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with all KeyBank policies and conduct business ethically.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and digital creative marketing development process.
• Understanding of banking products and segment needs.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar.
• Experience in content strategy and editorial standards development.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory considerations in marketing.

Benefits & Perks

• Eligible for a base salary ranging from $71,000 to $120,000 annually depending on location and experience.
• Eligibility for short-term incentive compensation.
