The role involves contributing to the development of AspenTech's industry-leading Outage Management System (OMS) within the Digital Grid Management (DGM) business, which makes a direct impact on energy consumers and addresses climate change challenges. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be a key member of an Agile team designing and implementing scalable outage management platforms with a focus on high-quality software and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with other developers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement best-in-class software.
Work with business stakeholders and technical leaders to define product needs as functional requirements.
Design and implement reliable, performant, and fault-tolerant code based on requirements and user stories.
Be a technical leader for small teams (1-3 additional developers) on complex projects.
Ensure reliable code by developing unit tests and test automation tools.
Assist in code and design reviews.
Train and mentor other team members in your area of expertise.
Take part in agile team ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospective.
Investigate, isolate, and identify solutions to reported software malfunctions.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
4+ years of experience with object-oriented programming (Java, C++, C#, Python, etc.).
4+ years of experience with web-based programming (JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS).
Passion for building scalable and optimized software systems.
Test-driven development experience, including the ability to unit test code.
Experience with performance testing and automation tools (Roadrunner, Locust, VisualVM).
Extensive knowledge of interacting databases (Mongo, Oracle DB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SQLite).
Interaction with and implementation of RESTful Web Services preferred.
Expert understanding of algorithms and complex data structures.

Nice to Have

Experience with user interface design and adjusting approach to user interaction and feedback.

Salary range of $109,600.00 - $137,000.00, with potential for bonus or variable incentive pay.
