About the Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). The position involves working as an experienced Software Engineer within the Workday Learning team, contributing to the development of a modern, consumer-like learning experience for millions of users worldwide. Key Responsibilities

  • Work with other developers, software architects, and product owners to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software products that meet customer needs.
  • Support contracts with the U.S. Federal Government, ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.
  • Contribute to the continued success of the Learning Product by crafting innovative solutions and improving existing systems.
  • Participate in team collaboration within Scrum teams of Engineers, QA, PM, and Auto to meet project goals.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience with Web application development or SaaS; UML is a plus.
  • 5+ years of object-oriented design and development experience in languages such as Java, C#, etc.
  • 4-year degree in a computer-related field or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience designing and developing business applications, with knowledge of ERP systems, HR, or Human Capital Management being a plus.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Federal requirements including Title V, Office of Personnel Management, and GPPA is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Strong understanding of software performance design and analysis.
  • Algorithmic thinking and experience crafting efficient algorithms and data structures.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with metadata-driven definitional development.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Federal requirements such as Title V, OPM, and GPPA.

  • 4-year degree in a computer-related field or equivalent.

  • Competitive salary range: $153,600 - $230,400 USD for primary location, with additional US location ranges up to $259,200 USD.
