Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with peers, product owners, and designers to design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software to our quickly growing developer community.
- Write clear, efficient, and scalable code with an eye towards maintainability.
- Participate in design and code reviews.
- Discover and troubleshoot issues with existing architecture and code.
- Polish, improve, and innovate with regards to the existing code base.
- Support the release planning by understanding the details (effort, risk, priority) of the planned features in an agile environment.
- Own and contribute to team productivity/process improvements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in developing and maintaining a production microservice (for Sr. Software Development Engineer).
- 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining a production microservice (for Software Development Engineer).
- 8+ years of experience with object-oriented or functional design and programming with Java or Go (for Sr. Software Development Engineer).
- 5+ years of experience with object-oriented or functional design and programming with Java or Go (for Software Development Engineer).
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related experience.
- 5+ years' experience with cloud development tools, particularly AWS and Kubernetes (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudFront) (for Sr. Software Development Engineer).
- 2+ years' experience with cloud development tools, particularly AWS and Kubernetes (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudFront) (for Software Development Engineer).
- Solid experience delivering cloud-based production services to an enterprise customer base.
- Experience with XpressO (Workday proprietary).
- Proficiency in modern development tools and processes, including IDEs, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automated end-to-end (E2E) testing.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Experience collaborating with product managers to define and refine requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong passion for service ownership and coding.
Nice to Have
- Experience with XpressO (Workday proprietary).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
