Job Description

About the Role

As an Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer for TE Connectivity, you will focus on the embedded firmware, software, and verification-validation testing of high-speed products in cable assemblies targeting high speed communications and connectivity within datacenters and wireless infrastructure. You will work independently on projects related to embedded firmware and validation, collaborating within a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and operations professionals. You will serve as the subject matter expert for the embedded and electrical performance of a product/platform, contributing to the creation of a safer, sustainable, and more connected world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product code development for high-speed cable assemblies from conception to manufacturing.
  • Establishing software design performance/functional requirements for new products.
  • Creating actionable recommendations based upon design reviews and simulation results.
  • Making data-driven decisions about product functionality and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute leading edge product designs.
  • Verifying and validating firmware and embedded systems for high-speed products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in embedded firmware/software development.
  • Proficient with embedded systems and ANSI C.
  • Proficient with basic communication protocols and microcontrollers (I2C, SPI, MDIO, ADCs, DACs, etc.).
  • Proficient with version control systems.
  • Experience with component selection, schematic review, testing, and validation of firmware.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret lab data and identify issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a global environment, accommodating varying time zones, and fluent in English.
  • Highly motivated, quick learner, and able to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with high-speed cable products and connectivity solutions.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and design review processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
