Sr. Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems that can process large volume of data efficiently
• Develop clean, high-quality, and production-ready code with comprehensive test coverage
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to drive feature implementation, testing and deployment
• Contribute to system architecture and design discussion with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Take ownership of features from concept to delivery, balancing short-term speed with long-term technical vision
• Bring a growth mindset, stay curious, and continuously look for ways to improve product quality and team efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of professional experience designing and developing distributed applications
• Experience with computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, system design, and object-oriented programming
• Experience in SQL and working with relational databases
• Experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C#, Python, or Go
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Experience building, designing, and consuming RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and best practices
• Experience with NoSQL Databases (e.g. Cassandra, Cosmos DB) and understanding of appropriate use cases
• Experience deploying and maintaining scalable, highly available systems
• Proficient with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, testing, and release management
• Experience with cloud-native development, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work across different technology stacks and adapt to new technologies
• Prior experience operating high-availability production systems

• Pay ranges in locations such as Washington, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York: $151,200 - $222,450 base salary
