About the Role

We are seeking a Sr Software Engineer (Android) to join Paramount's CBS Sports division. The role involves developing, testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining internal common libraries and native Android applications within an agile team. Key Responsibilities

Develop new product features in Kotlin, with Java knowledge required
Diagnose and fix defects identified by users or team members
Review code changes by other team members to ensure they meet requirements, are error free, and follow Modern Android Development (MAD) best practices
Participate in scrum team meetings
Monitor in-market versions for issues
Investigate new SDKs and requirements
Contribute to the modernization of CBS Sports App
Assist with betting integrations within CBS Sports App

Requirements

Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience in Android Development
Strong knowledge of Kotlin programming language and Android APIs, including experience with a released Play Store application using Kotlin
Strong Java knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with Git and Git Flow
Experience with build tooling such as Gradle, Maven, and CI build servers
Sound programming fundamentals including memory management, thread synchronization, and event-based programming
Strong UI Design knowledge
Experience working on a distributed team across multiple locations
Ability to integrate third-party APIs and tools such as Video players and Subscription services
Experience mentoring and growing technical individuals
Experience with the agile process flow

Nice to Have

Experience with deploying Android libraries to Maven repositories
Experience with GitHub Actions

Qualifications

Experience working on a released Android application
Experience with SDKs and third-party API integrations
