We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Technology team as a Senior Software Engineer responsible for building a platform to support our community team, including analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation, and implementation of new product features.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in team collaborative agile ceremonies
- Help mentor junior engineers
- Raise the bar in coding standards and agile processes
- Deliver high quality features for our customers
- Have ownership and accountability for the team’s work
- Care about how our customers are using our products through production monitoring
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to ensure the highest quality product platform
- Collaborate with peer organizations, quality assurance, and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions
- Develop highly available and highly scalable applications
- Generate technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests
- Shape development processes to promote a high-quality output while continuing to iterate
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of team members
Requirements
- 6+ Years Professional Experience
- Experience with AWS infrastructure
- Experience developing scalable, multi-tier web solutions, ideally for a consumer website
- Experience with relational databases, document databases, and/or key/value stores
- Experience with Java
- Experience with GoLang
- Experience with Kafka
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with GraphQL / REST / gRPC
- Proactive, self-starter attitude
- Enjoys connecting people and technology to solve complex problems at scale
- Researches industry trends and remains current on emerging technology
- Ability to analyze, model, and develop complex and high-level architecture plans
- Ability to work directly with delivery teams to craft value-enabling increments
