Sr Software Engineer - Remote

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, development, and deployment of a cloud-based platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Contribute to the technical design and development of the platform, making informed decisions on technology selection, infrastructure, and integration points
• Develop and maintain coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality and maintainable code
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure that the team follows coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and UI/UX designers, to ensure seamless integration and an excellent user experience
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies, AI/ML frameworks, and best practices, and share insights and knowledge with the team
• Monitor and optimize the platform's performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and responsiveness
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure secure and scalable deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the platform

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a software development engineer or equivalent hands-on experience producing code for production systems
• 3+ years of experience working with Public Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, beyond basic IaaS functionality
• 3+ years of experience programming in at least one high-level language (Java, C#, Python, Golang, JavaScript, etc.), and experience with distributed computing frameworks
• 2+ years of engineering experience in building infrastructure using code and repeatable designs (IaC)
• Experience in CI/CD practices and tools, specifically GitHub Actions and Jenkins, and source control systems such as Git

Nice to Have

• Expertise in data storage, caching, and optimization (SQL and NoSQL databases)
• Knowledge of API design and lifecycle management (REST, etc.)
• Familiarity with security and compliance requirements in cloud-based environments
• Proficiency in instrumentation, logging, and tracing tools (Prometheus, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, etc.)
• Proven solid technical expertise in cloud technologies, such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and experience with serverless architecture, microservices, and containerization
• Proven solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative technical solutions
• Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and AI/ML
