Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a project manager for hardware engineering projects related to both new and existing products.
  • Plans, documents, and executes project plans according to defined timelines, budgets, and quality objectives.
  • Coordinates and leads the activities of multiple cross-functional teams to complete projects in support of BI business strategy and objectives.
  • Manages sustaining engineering projects for existing products to address quality, cost, and customer satisfaction issues.
  • Manages engineering projects related to the development and introduction of new products.
  • Creates and manages documentation to clearly define scope of projects related to existing and new products.
  • Determines staffing resources required to complete project plans and recruits/manages appropriate staffing.
  • Communicates expectations to team members and stakeholders and provides regular reports on project progress.
  • Plans, leads, and executes risk mitigation and qualification testing for assigned products.
  • Leads and participates in concurrent and value engineering efforts for process and product improvement.
  • Provides technical and engineering analyses to evaluate development issues with hardware and processes/methods.
  • Supports new product qualification and regulatory certifications through documentation.
  • Serves as a technical liaison with quality, manufacturing, purchasing, and external suppliers.
  • Plans and leads preliminary design reviews (PDR) and critical design reviews (CDR).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Electrical, Mechanical, or Firmware degree preferred.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in product development, project management, electronic circuit design, mechanical engineering design, or test and manufacturing engineering.
  • At least two (2) years of experience managing engineering projects ranging from moderate to complex.
  • PMP certification required.
  • At least three (3) years of experience with project management software.
  • Knowledge of and experience with product development from design through customer delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management techniques and practices.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic business vision and a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office equipment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with thermal chambers, cycle testers, and equipment fans.
  • Experience working in laboratory environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Firmware preferred).
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • PMP certification.
