Sr Unreal Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Write production-quality C++ code across multiple engine systems - from rendering to physics to gameplay.
• Jump between different technical challenges as needed, acting as a Swiss Army knife for the engineering team.
• Modify Unreal Engine 5 source code to solve specific problems and implement new features.
• Profile and optimize code across CPU and GPU to achieve performance targets.
• Debug complex issues wherever they arise - no system is off-limits.
• Collaborate with other engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of professional game development experience with a passion for hands-on coding.
• Strong experience with Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) at the source code level - comfortable diving into any part of the engine.
• Expert-level C++ proficiency with understanding of modern C++17/20 features.
• Proven track record as a generalist who has worked across multiple engine systems (rendering, physics, gameplay, tools, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to modify engine source code, create custom plugins, and extend engine functionality.
• Self-directed problem solver capable of tackling any technical challenge.
• Experience shipping games on PC and/or current-generation consoles.
• Strong technical communication skills without interest in people management.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 rendering and graphics tools.
• Knowledge of game profiling and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with tools used in game development pipelines.
