About the Role

The Staff Application Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining critical applications and related data processing platforms and services. The role involves ensuring application and platform SLA adherence, security, compliance, and data integrity within GE Aerospace. The engineer manages large or multiple components of a domain, product, program, or a pod, contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively learns new tools and integrates new methods to drive improved outcomes, including assessing new technologies that can add value and capability to GE.
  • Builds rapport with the team, drives stakeholder understanding and acceptance of new ideas, and participates in change programs by planning implementation activities.
  • Establishes and communicates team members' roles, shares knowledge, and encourages collaboration to achieve mutual goals.
  • Mentors others to improve their contribution, fosters relationship building, and identifies gaps in team roles to grow and distribute talent.
  • Identifies when additional information is needed from stakeholders, asks relevant questions, and delivers solutions while clearly stating assumptions.
  • Adjusts communication to suit the audience, produces detailed functional area information, and explains the rationale and benefits of ideas.
  • Provides options and counsel, drives dialogue for innovation, and consults on projects to align systems and infrastructure with project goals.
  • Connects ideas from various sources, pilots new ideas and processes, and manages risks through analysis and contingency planning.
  • Ensures group understanding of issues, resolves conflicts through consensus, and uses facilitation techniques to gain agreement.
  • Identifies future roadblocks, promotes data-based problem solving, and advises on difficult problems to align team efforts with organizational goals.
  • Defines and tracks KPIs, communicates operational status, and drives resolution of escalated issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in relevant roles.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship provided).
  • Experience in influencing decision-making at LPBs and below.
  • Ability to drive design and implementation of roadmaps.
  • Experience partnering with users and product teams to understand operational needs and translate them into support models.
  • Ability to define and track KPIs and communicate operational status effectively.
  • Experience in driving resolution of escalated items.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with application security and compliance.
  • Knowledge of data infrastructure development projects.
  • Experience with monitoring and feedback systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM majors.
