About the Role

Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, and other US locations. Our robust hybrid work model spans San Francisco, Denver, Ankara, Dublin, and Melbourne. This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office at the nearest hub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Udemy's Consumer GM, Marketing and Product leadership to deliver data-informed insights for consumer acquisition and engagement strategies.
  • Support customer segmentation efforts using behavioral and transactional data.
  • Build executive-level data visualizations to track consumer performance metrics such as revenue, cohort trends, LTV, content consumption, and feature adoption.
  • Analyze revenue growth drivers by geographic market, channel, product solution, and customer segment to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Design and implement proactive alerting tools to surface leading indicators of revenue drivers and inform forecasts.
  • Partner with Finance to maintain forecasting models for key business metrics like revenue, traffic, conversions, and churn.
  • Leverage behavioral data to identify patterns and trends for marketing tactics, product design, and lifecycle planning.
  • Develop new methods for measuring customer value and learning impact using data science best practices.
  • Use advanced analytics techniques (e.g., clustering, regression) to uncover insights for serving consumer learners.
  • Translate open-ended business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations.
  • Support self-directed projects and stakeholder requests, identifying processes for automation or expanded reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Finance, Data Science, and Analytics Engineering to improve data pipelines and accessibility.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in a data science or analytics role, ideally with customer insights experience.
  • Expert-level SQL skills; experience with Databricks or similar cloud data warehouses.
  • Experience utilizing Python or other scripting languages.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, ideally Tableau.
  • Experience applying predictive modeling, segmentation, and statistical analysis to support business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of developing and presenting executive-ready insights.
  • A proactive mindset, strong ownership, and a collaborative approach.
  • Comfort with balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with combining data from various sources into cohesive models.
