Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, debug, and maintain software product applications.
  • Act as a technical leader on the team, collaborating closely with the Architecture team and other members to deliver on the backlog.
  • Ensure platform architecture meets growth, monitoring, and alerting goals.
  • Lead deep, complex, and high-risk technical projects, managing communication around them.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and make appropriate trade-off decisions.
  • Mentor junior team members on techniques, tools, and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovations through continuing education, training, and proof of concepts.
  • Design and develop features to enhance Early Warning's core products.
  • Manage source code using Git and query platform data with SQL-based databases.
  • Work on complex Java Web Services using Spring Boot.
  • Track sprint work in Jira and document decisions in Confluence.
  • Build automated tests integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Submit pull requests and incorporate review feedback.
  • Troubleshoot complex bugs during development.
  • Support the company's risk management and data integrity efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10 or more years of related industry experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and low-level optimization skills.
  • Proficiency with Git source control.
  • Familiarity with writing automated tests.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL.
  • Advanced proficiency in RESTful service design.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and make informed trade-off decisions.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to influence decisions.
  • Background check and drug screening clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Spring / Spring Boot framework experience.
  • Strong understanding of event-based programming, multi-threading, memory management, fault tolerance, distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms.
  • Experience with SOAP services.
  • Familiarity with data formats like XML, JSON, YAML.
  • NoSQL experience (Redis, HBASE, AeroSpike, etc.).
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
  • FinTech industry experience.

Qualifications

  • Educational background or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, SQL, RESTful services, and Git.
