Staff Product Manager, Data Platform

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Product Ownership: Own the product roadmap for the Data Platform team, balancing technical feasibility, user impact, and business goals.
• Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate a clear, compelling vision and strategy for the data platform, aligning closely with Squarespace's broader strategic objectives.
• Technical Roadmap: Lead user discovery and market research to deeply understand current and future user needs, translating insights into actionable roadmaps.
• Data Integration & Reliability: Prioritize and oversee data integration projects, ensuring they meet accuracy, latency, and availability service-level objectives (SLOs).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with analytics product managers and technical teams to champion data quality, reliability, and best practices across Squarespace.
• Stakeholder Communication: Clearly articulate strategy, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders across the company, ensuring alignment and buy-in.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management or technical leadership experience, ideally in data-intensive environments.
• Deep expertise in data systems architecture, microservices, and infrastructure design, with the capability to engage in technical decisions.
• Demonstrated ability in end-to-end system design, including knowledge of component-based architectures, data storage solutions, and integration methods.
• Experience with data modeling, database design, and data warehousing, including familiarity with large-scale data model improvements.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns to enable seamless interoperability.
• Bachelor's degree required; MS in Computer Science or related engineering discipline is preferred.
