Technical Program Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the planning, execution, controlling, and closure of projects/programs.
• Develop detailed requirements from high-level business requirements, prioritize efforts, and manage project dependencies.
• Refine resource requirements and form project teams, including estimating financial, physical, or human resources for long-term projects.
• Champion the development of best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives across multiple projects and organizations.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings, communicate roles and expectations, and ensure team members have necessary tools and training.
• Integrate detailed project plans and schedules into a master program plan.
• Provide work direction and leadership to assigned programs, including scheduling, assigning work, and reviewing efforts.
• Facilitate evaluation, selection, and contract negotiation with external vendors and contractors; manage vendor relationships and performance.
• Make presentations to solicit program buy-in, report on project status, and communicate with various audiences.
• Monitor program milestones, scope, cost, and quality to identify risks and initiate resolution strategies.
• Assess variances from plans, develop and implement changes to keep projects within scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
• Conduct project review and closure to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.
• Provide constructive feedback to teams, work with development teams to improve processes, and develop stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor less experienced personnel and conduct performance reviews and career planning sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including managing projects when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight years of IT project management experience.
• Two years of experience managing major projects.
• Successful completion of recognized project management training or equivalent work experience.
• Working knowledge of end-to-end software development lifecycle.
• Experience with projects in multiple technologies and business functions.
