Technical Program Manager

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects throughout all project stages in the areas of communication, schedule, budget, resources, scope, risk, and issues.
• Work with senior management and key stakeholders to build the business case that defines project scope, cost estimates, required resources, benefit/value/ROI, and deliverables that align to strategic goals.
• Break down projects into manageable tasks, assign to team resources, and ensure project milestones are achieved on time, on budget, and deliver the expected value.
• Develop and revise project plans, monitor and report on project budgets and financial health, and work with users to understand problems and mitigate risks.
• Proactively manage change in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise mitigation actions and contingency plans.
• Provide transparent stakeholder communication by regularly updating on project progress, risks, and issues, and gather stakeholder feedback to refine deliverables.
• Ensure project management tools like Clarizen/AdaptiveWork are updated to reflect accurate real-time data and KPIs.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, coaching, mentoring, and motivation to project team members and contractors.
• Build and develop business relationships vital to project success through cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide testing oversight to ensure proper testing procedures and quality standards are met.
• Drive continuous improvement of enterprise project management standards, processes, and tools.
• Conduct lessons learned sessions and create recommendations reports on project elements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Project Management or business management or equivalent coursework and experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification, or other recognized certifications or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of project/program management experience, including delivering IT-enabled and business process improvement projects.
• Strong technical background, often with experience in software development or engineering.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, RUP, ADM).
• Experience with project management tools such as Clarizen/AdaptiveWork, Smartsheet, MS Project, SharePoint, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, TFS.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, conform to shifting priorities, and work efficiently under aggressive timelines.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a non-standard schedule including evenings and weekends.

Nice to Have

• Global transportation and logistics management experience.

Qualifications

• Educational background in project management or business management.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP or CSM.
• Extensive project management experience (8+ years).

Benefits & Perks

• Salary range of $150,000 - $175,000 based on geographic zone and experience.
• Participation in an Incentive Plan with a target payout based on performance.
• Annual Incentive Opportunity of 10% of eligible compensation.
