About the Role

The Technical Project Leader will be supporting the buildup and modernization of facilities for the United States, focusing on military defense and training sites. The role involves leading a team, working closely with customers and other teams to deliver quality systems, and contributing to critical defense missions. The position offers an opportunity to make a difference every day in a collaborative environment supporting national security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage projects from inception through completion and provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the contract.
  • Manage and coordinate technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks.
  • Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements. Review work for quality assurance.
  • Compose memoranda, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for daily and weekly meetings with customer.
  • Attend meetings and make presentations about project status and work commitments.
  • Ensure training of all staff members and instruct them on customer's methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate, develop, or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and take corrective action.
  • Review employee schedules and timecards.
  • Participate in long-range planning, analysis, and program design.
  • Participate in the planning and design of new projects as requested.
  • Effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic production environment.
  • Handle ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and develop appropriate solutions to emergent issues.
  • Work independently and quickly learn new program functional skills and tasks.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain, or possess, a U.S. Government granted personnel security clearance at the Secret level and US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED Equivalent and 12-14 years of experience.
  • Experience leading and managing teams in a Ship Repair & Modernization environment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Knowledge of DoD program execution, including scheduling, data gathering and analysis, or government contracts.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office products to use and create spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a military or defense-related environment.
  • Experience with ship repair and modernization projects.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Educational background as specified in the requirements.
