About the Role

The Technical Project Manager at Daniel Defense is responsible for leading cross-functional projects within the Digital Commerce department, ensuring the successful development, implementation, and optimization of eCommerce platforms, data integrations, and marketing initiatives. The role involves collaborating with various teams to improve processes, ensure compliance, and deliver a high-quality customer experience, all while supporting the company's mission to honor God and defend freedom through top-quality firearm solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure the Scrum framework is followed and assist the team in removing obstacles.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional and cross-team projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring all milestones are met.
  • Analyze integrated data sets to extract actionable insights and identify opportunities for optimization across various aspects of the digital commerce business.
  • Use SQL to query databases, extract data, and perform detailed analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Own and lead internal meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment among team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present project updates, status reports, and performance metrics to upper management.
  • Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for new features and enhancements.
  • Manage custom integrations using APIs between eCommerce platforms, marketing automation tools, ERP systems, CRM software, and other third-party services.
  • Develop data mapping documents and maintain documentation to facilitate understanding and troubleshooting of data integrations.
  • Assist the Compliance team in ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry data handling and integration within the eCommerce site.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Digital Commerce to develop, maintain, and improve processes and utilize project management tools, documentation, and communication channels to ensure team alignment.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation of data integration projects.
  • Work closely with digital, procurement, and operations teams to manage stock levels and replenishments on the website.
  • Create and maintain Product Detail Pages, Banners, and inventory levels within the website backend/Admin system.
  • Manage website content to deliver fresh content and an engaging customer experience.
  • Work with Digital Commerce Leadership to plan strategic marketing partnerships, promotions, and programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and agencies to optimize the website for SEO, conversions, and user experience.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects from inception to completion.
  • Analyze data sets to extract insights and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Lead internal meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Prepare and present project updates and performance metrics to upper management.
  • Assist the Compliance Team in ensuring data privacy and industry data handling compliance.
  • Manage all merchandising activities related to the eCommerce website.
  • Contribute to company efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

  • Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Operations, Project/Product Management, inventory management, or Scrum Master, preferably in an eCommerce or digital marketing environment.
  • Proficiency with SQL and/or Snowflake.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for data integration issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of eCommerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Optimizely, Odoo).
  • Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Hubspot, HotJar, Marketo, ODP/Zaius).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and CRM software.
  • Open to quarterly travel to HQ.
  • Some minimal on-call or after-hours work may be required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with company values of high integrity, safety, and fairness.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Firearms industry knowledge or experience.
  • Knowledge of SEO and merchandising best practices for eCommerce.
