About the Role

The Technology Support / Social Media Specialist is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software issues across multiple platforms, managing social media presence, and providing technical support to staff and administration. This role involves working in a school or organizational environment, supporting both IT infrastructure and digital communication efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a multi-platform environment, including PCs, Windows OS, iOS, networking, mobile devices, and printer functions.
  • Ability to fix/adjust projectors, Touchviews, and security cameras.
  • Managing Windows clients and Windows Servers, Microsoft Office products.
  • Developing a social media presence across multiple platforms.
  • Creating a minimum of 1 social media post per week across multiple platforms.
  • Monitoring comments and reposting all social media postings.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving problems with computer hardware, peripheral hardware, software, internet and network service, email and intranet accounts, phones, and network wiring.
  • Providing support via on-site/desk-side visits, remote connections, and Help Desk requests.
  • Updating tickets with resolutions and documenting requests and issues.
  • Preparing, configuring, and deploying new or upgraded hardware, software, and network equipment.
  • Creating and maintaining user accounts, shared resources, and permissions with Active Directory and email systems.
  • Assisting staff with setup/access and resetting passwords for necessary applications.
  • Contributing to hardware, software, and information security maintenance.
  • Coordinating and performing setup and installation of hardware and software.
  • Interacting with staff to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintaining an inventory of hardware and software and advising on replacements.
  • Following procedures to ensure compliance with software licenses.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and reviewing backup systems.
  • Maintaining iPads and MacBooks, including software updates and app installations.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and traveling as needed.
  • Performing related duties and working on special projects.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Higher in a related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with certifications such as CompTIA and Google Certified Educator.
  • Experience with managing Windows clients and servers, Microsoft Office, and network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with security cameras, projectors, Touchviews, and related hardware.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory, email systems, and user account management.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and travel as needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Mitel IP Phones, Fortigate, n-Light Acuity, Cisco Meraki, VMware, Tyler Technologies, Extreme Cloud.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or higher in a related field
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with relevant certifications
