Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a UX Researcher to help develop a world-class mobile experience powering a groundbreaking next-generation hardware product. This role will lead UX research efforts to shape the mobile and watch app experience, ensuring it is intuitive, impactful, and grounded in real athlete needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on researcher who thrives in ambiguity, collaborates deeply with design and product, and brings clarity through insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute UX research studies to inform development of mobile and watch apps
  • Draw from a variety of human-centered design research methods (interviews, observations, diary studies, prototypes, surveys, user tests, etc.) at different stages of the process
  • Partner with design to ideate, prototype, and iterate on new mobile and watch app features
  • Lead internal and external field research efforts
  • Leverage prior organization's UX research programs to inform development and avoid past pitfalls
  • Help define timelines, facilitate progress, and ensure projects successfully reach their goals
  • Synthesize insights into actionable recommendations that shape the strategy and roadmap
  • Be a through-line of consumer knowledge, trends, and past research, and a primary source for what's new, what's old, and what's exciting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design Research, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience conducting UX research in product development environments applying human-centered design approaches and tools
  • Strong ability to scope a research process, gather insights from secondary research, lead fieldwork, and conduct in-context interviews and observation
  • Experience working on mobile apps, connected devices, or wearable technology
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills — able to influence design and product decisions with evidence
  • Familiarity with tools like Figma, Dscout, UserTesting.com, and survey platforms
  • Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and superpower for translating it into organized and clear steps
  • Comfortable discussing and facilitating discussions with senior leadership
  • Must be able to be subjective and unbiased in research to avoid persuading consumers during testing

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with tools like Figma, Dscout, UserTesting.com, and survey platforms (noted as important for the role)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design Research, or related field
  • 5+ years of UX research experience
