About the Role

The Temporary Social Media Coordinator will support the Communications and Marketing department at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport by creating engaging social media content, assisting with community management, and executing social media strategies to enhance audience engagement and ensure consistent messaging across platforms. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, content creation, monitoring trends, and supporting special events, all within a fast-paced airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging and high-quality social media content, including graphics, videos, and copywriting for various platforms that aligns with the airport's communications strategy.
  • Assist in executing the airport's social media content strategy, ensuring alignment with marketing campaigns and key messaging.
  • Monitor social media trends and recommend creative approaches to enhance audience engagement.
  • Capture and edit short-form videos, images, and other multimedia content for real-time posting and assist on scheduling and posting content using social media management tools.
  • Support the Social Media Manager in community management efforts, responding to comments and messages as needed.
  • Track content performance and provide insights to optimize future content strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including communications, to source engaging content, including behind-the-scenes and real-time airport operational updates.
  • Maintain an organized digital asset library for social media use.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, accessibility requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar.
  • Support the team in managing social media coverage and crisis communications.
  • Assist in drafting, creating, and proofreading content and contribute to ongoing communications projects in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Assist with all special events supported by the Communications and Marketing Department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
  • One (1) or more years experience creating, managing and/or overseeing social media and/or related digital channels such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
  • Fluent content creation skills using tools like Canva, Adobe Express or Creative Suite, CapCut for visuals and videos, or other social creation tools.
  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge in accordance with TSA requirements within thirty (30) days from employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each renewal.
  • Knowledge of social media and digital communications principles, activities, practices and skills.
  • Skill in using content creation tools and social media platforms, with an understanding of trends and trend analysis.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to gather and analyze basic performance data from social media platforms and report findings clearly.
  • Knowledge of project management and planning principles and practices.
  • Ability to work under tight and conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, media, and other key groups.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge and proficiency with software packages used in graphics production such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or PageMaker.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with database applications such as Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro, and web-based database software applications.
  • Knowledge of social media tools, including Sprout Social, Rival IQ and Loomly.
  • Experience with multimedia campaigns or multi-channel communications programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
