About the Role

GDIT is seeking a manual functional Test Engineer to support a government software delivery project. This position involves working with a team of developers, analysts, and testers on a mission-driven program that offers technical and functional challenges. The role is based in Ashburn, VA, with a hybrid work arrangement, and requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

Work with the development team to create test strategies and customized solutions
Help collect and develop test data and technical information used for creating test suites
Document test strategies and results as needed
Engage with complex and data heavy test scenarios

Requirements

Working knowledge of issue/bug tracking tools such as Jira
Experience with testing web-based/cloud applications
Experience writing new test cases and modifying existing ones
Experience with writing SQL to query data from databases
Ability to collaborate with team members to meet or exceed client needs and expectations
Ability to research problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions
Aptitude for quickly learning new technology and a desire to grow
Good written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of experience in a Java-based development environment or related IT role
Experience with creating test plans based on requirements and documenting results
Experience with Agile methodologies
Understanding of relational database design
Experience working with a government client
Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Final)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
2-3 years of experience in a Java-based development environment or related IT role
