About the Role

The Director, Advanced Analytics - Inventory Excellence is a strategic leader focused on driving inventory strategies that power Walmart Merchandising's digital transformation. This highly visible role leads Walmart's eCommerce Ordering & Inventory Management Team and is responsible for ensuring the items customers want, need and love are available to ship from our FC network. The associate will lead their team by providing thought leadership in inventory management focused on improving item availability for customers at the lowest enterprise cost. This role works with key partners in Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce, data science, product, and engineering teams. The position is based in Bentonville, AR and reports to the Senior Director, Inventory Strategy & Analytics within Merchandising Excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 5 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 7 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
4 years' supervisory experience OR experience leading cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical foundation and experience applying data-driven insights to improve inventory or fulfillment.
Ability to solve complex problems, provide clear direction, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Experience building strong partnerships across business and tech teams and aligning teams around shared goals.
Ability to mentor and develop talent, fostering a high-performance culture rooted in curiosity, accountability, and growth.
Adaptability, resilience, and thriving in large, matrixed environments.

Nice to Have

Cluster analysis techniques, simulation, inferential statistics, neural networks, or data mining techniques.
Masters degrees in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Statistics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field.
5 years' experience in data analytics or related field, or 7 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
