About the Role

The Director, Digital Media at Walmart is responsible for leading and executing Walmart's digital media strategy across all channels. This role involves building and managing teams, developing innovative digital marketing campaigns, fostering strategic partnerships, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. The position requires a focus on digital innovation, campaign management, process improvement, budget oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to drive growth, engagement, and customer satisfaction within Walmart's digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives, ensuring associates receive learning and development opportunities such as training and mentoring.
  • Conducts performance and career development conversations, mentors less experienced associates and managers.
  • Drafts the digital media strategy ensuring alignment with Walmart's marketing and overall business strategy, socializes with other marketing leaders and associates.
  • Strengthens technical digital marketing expertise and connects with internal and external technology partners to drive digital media strategy.
  • Contributes to digital innovation by socializing new strategies and approaches to differentiate Walmart in the marketplace.
  • Utilizes deep technical knowledge and business acumen to advise on product development roadmap and user experience, consulting with technical experts.
  • Manages all aspects of multiple large and complex digital campaigns, including developing campaign plans, goals, and ensuring execution.
  • Integrates multichannel connection points within website to increase value and returns from digital efforts.
  • Interfaces and consults with internal teams and external agencies, providing strategic direction and managing relationships.
  • Adjusts strategy and plans based on campaign ROI, trends, and insights.
  • Partners with internal teams to develop creative direction and key messages for campaigns, guiding creative execution.
  • Provides input into process workflow change strategies and prepares teams for upcoming changes.
  • Develops and oversees budgets for multiple campaigns, suggesting adjustments to meet operational objectives.
  • Collaborates with marketing leaders, external agencies, and key partners to ensure effective campaign development and implementation.
  • Supports development of social media engagement strategies, oversees social media content, and drives community engagement.
  • Influences paid and organic search strategies, manages relationships with platform providers, and reviews performance metrics.
  • Supports performance social and display advertising, analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Identifies and manages strategic partnerships and affiliate opportunities to drive growth and brand awareness.
  • Develops customer relationship management strategies to improve engagement and lifetime value, ensuring alignment across channels.
  • Builds high-performing teams, supports talent development, mentorship, and succession planning.
  • Fosters an environment of respect, integrity, and collaboration, promoting Walmart’s values and ethical standards.
  • Acts as a servant leader, demonstrating humility, self-awareness, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
  • Or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
  • Or 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
  • Experience in digital marketing, including affiliate marketing and display advertising.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team.
