About the Role

The Walmart Principal, Technical Program Manager role involves leading complex technology projects and programs within Walmart Global Tech. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple highly complex projects or large complex applications by driving projects through all lifecycle phases to successful completion, including developing and maintaining project schedules, managing risks, escalating issues, and coordinating production issue resolution.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on application of best practices, support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs, and build commitment among stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships with key stakeholders, identifying needs, monitoring progress, recognizing improvement opportunities, and adapting to organizational changes.
  • Model compliance with company policies, standards of ethics and integrity, and support the development and execution of business plans.
  • Act as a servant leader, demonstrating humility, self-awareness, honesty, transparency, curiosity, resilience, and fostering a learning and innovative environment.
  • Build strong relationships with team members and business partners, work collaboratively across functions, and communicate effectively to motivate and influence others.
  • Create a focus on talent development, promote an inclusive environment, empower associates, and recognize contributions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 11+ years of technical project or program management experience OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology with 9+ years of experience.
  • Experience with Agile methods including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Enterprise software engineering program management experience for full SDLC.
  • Experience using product backlog management tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Project for planning, execution, and transparency.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts in business terms using MS Office tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Industry certifications such as CSM, SAFe Agilist, PMP are a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, or information systems and 4 years' experience in product design.
  • Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in engineering, program management, or related fields.
  • Option 2: 8 years' experience in engineering, program management, or related fields.
