About the Role

Position Summary... As a part of Walmart Connect, you'll build industry defining omni-channel ad platforms at scale that enable Walmart suppliers to reach shoppers with relevant ads and high performing campaigns while helping shoppers discover products to enhance their shopping journey. This role involves leading research and development for initiatives leveraging algorithmic automation and AI/ML to optimize advertiser outcomes across media planning, campaign management, creative production, ad serving, optimization, and measurement. Walmart Connect enables the connection between supplier brands and retail shoppers at scale, working with talented teams to engage over 150 million households, with a focus on targeted, accountable digital advertising supported by Walmart's sales data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving product lifecycle from requirement definitions, research, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, testing, KPIs and other launch efforts.
  • Working with data science, engineering, and Walmart partners to define data requirements, measurement methodologies, APIs, and UX for reporting dashboards.
  • Conducting industry and competitive analysis to understand emerging advertising trends and identify new opportunities.
  • Conducting customer research to define customer segments and needs to inform the product roadmap.
  • Partnering with internal advertising sales and retail teams to create compelling experiences for shoppers and advertising clients.
  • Developing and enhancing products by managing roadmaps, aligning business and technical needs, analyzing data, turning insights into initiatives, and managing risks.
  • Defining vision and strategies for the product family using domain expertise, market opportunities, and building business cases.
  • Building collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities, communicating, and gaining buy-in from leadership.
  • Providing overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or master's degree in computer science, engineering, math or related field.
  • 3-5 years in product management with experience in display advertising, retail/ecommerce, or ad tech (programmatic DSP/SSP, RTB).
  • Experience leading technical product initiatives using AI/ML, optimization, and experimentation at scaled ad tech businesses.
  • Sound business judgment, ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and tactically.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and proven ability to influence others.
  • Test and learn mentality and an agile approach to product development.
  • Strong understanding of online to offline data matching methodologies.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products.
  • Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Experience with assistive technologies and digital accessibility best practices.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in product management.
  • Option 2: 7 years' experience in product management or related area.
