Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing guidance to small groups of 5 to 6 engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, directions, examples, and timeline.
  • Support the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues, researching and identifying solutions, and guiding implementation strategies.
  • Manage small to large-sized complex projects by translating requirements into technical solutions, developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information, performing root cause analysis, developing solutions, and completing online documentation.
  • Participate in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to develop high-level design by partnering with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply it to development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify business needs, monitor progress, recognize improvement opportunities, and adapt to organizational changes.
  • Model compliance with company policies and support Walmart’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience within eCommerce industry preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of developing front end applications using NextJs/ReactJs.
  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience using CSS frameworks and component libraries such as Tailwind or Material UI.
  • Ability to build products with focus on testability, well versed with Jest and Cypress.
  • Familiar with test framework Playwright.
  • A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset and understanding of principles in a highly regulated domain like health care.
  • Technical mindset with great attention to detail.
  • Understanding of modern development methodologies.
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 6 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with refactoring, redesigning, or rewriting existing applications.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 4 years of experience, or 6 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Option 2: Master’s degree in relevant field and 2 years of experience in software engineering (preferred).
