About the Role

The Vice President, Content Marketing will shape Teach For America's national brand narrative, content, and campaign strategy to inspire and drive action among audiences. This role involves crafting compelling storytelling strategies to elevate the organization's brand perception as a category leader, aligning with brand values and business objectives. The VP will lead cross-functional teams to execute multi-season strategies and is expected to be a strategic and creative thinker with a strong background in content, brand, and campaign management, as well as relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of creative content formats that captivate audiences, push storytelling boundaries, and align with business goals through measurement and optimization.
  • Develop content for various channels including short-form editorial content, blogs, and long-form content for interactive campaigns.
  • Oversee social media strategy across content, platforms, and KPIs.
  • Partner with VP of Marketing to oversee ad copy and brand positioning for digital marketing campaigns.
  • Manage an organization-wide content calendar and create systems for content creation, co-creation, curation, and responsible AI integration.
  • Oversee development and execution of marketing campaigns ensuring content excellence, messaging coherence, and alignment with brand and audience goals.
  • Partner with the Communications Team to align content marketing and earned media efforts and build a donated media program.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to provide inspiration and leadership for copywriters and designers.
  • Lead executive-level collaboration to evolve brand positioning and shape long-term priorities and market activation plans.
  • Steward internal and external brand alignment and develop owned go-to-market strategies for new products and programs.
  • Lead the organization's event and campaign strategy to tell a connected and compelling story supporting business goals.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to drive donor engagement and meet fundraising goals.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of strategists, writers, and social media directors, providing professional development and guidance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in brand strategy, content development, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Skilled storyteller, writer, and creative with an impactful portfolio.
  • Experience leading multi-platform content strategy and assessing ROI of content efforts.
  • Proven success in developing and executing national marketing campaigns.
  • Expertise in audience segmentation, brand positioning, and integrating creative strategy with business goals.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and influence across teams.
  • Deep understanding of social media management, emerging content trends, and media planning and buying.
  • Ability to foster excellence and champion creative work.
  • Persuasiveness and confidence to promote big ideas.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience, including nurturing talent at multiple levels.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
