The role of a Waveserver Software Developer involves contributing to optical network solutions, pushing technological boundaries, and collaborating within a dynamic team environment to develop, test, deploy, and improve software for telecommunications networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in crafting, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving software.
  • Manage individual project priorities, assignments, and timelines.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with multi-functional teams of developers, UX designers, quality assurance teams, and release managers.
  • Contribute to projects that play critical roles in network solutions and help build upon innovative technology.
  • Bring fresh ideas to new challenges and lead by example.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field coupled with a proven track record in software development.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop with one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience working with Linux-based developer tools and debugging environments such as GNU, GCC, GDB, Insight.
  • Knowledge of development tools such as Git, JIRA, Yocto, Docker, Bitbucket.
  • Familiarity with CI frameworks such as Jenkins, Grafana, Kubernetes.
  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to work with limited direction.
  • Ability to make key decisions and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence and tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Ability to see the big picture while understanding the importance of details and analysis.
  • Flexibility to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and develop trusted connections.
  • A commitment to innovation and staying abreast of market and competitive developments.

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience developing software embedded solutions engineered for performance and reliability on multi-processor, highly concurrent systems.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in software development.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with Linux-based developer tools and debugging environments.
  • Knowledge of development tools and CI frameworks.
