Job Description

About the Role

The Town of Belmont is seeking a full-time Web & Social Media Coordinator responsible for creating, updating, maintaining, and organizing content for the town's online presence across its website and social media platforms. The role involves providing technical support to town staff, enhancing digital strategy, and ensuring accessibility and usability of online content. The position reports to the Chief Information Officer and requires a creative, thoughtful, and tech-savvy individual with experience in web design and social media management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day maintenance of the Town of Belmont website, including creating and editing pages, updating modules, and removing outdated information.
  • Regularly reviews website content and proposes changes to improve usability, accessibility, and overall online presence.
  • Coordinates with the CIO and Town departments on digital strategy, including the creation of a coordinated and effective social media presence across platforms.
  • Responds to support requests from Town staff regarding website content or social media use.
  • Assists and trains staff who need help updating departmental content.
  • Provides on-call support outside of business hours as needed, including weekends.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Web Design or Information Technology with at least 1+ year of previous experience or the equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Proven capability managing websites and social media accounts in a professional capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), CivicPlus, and/or working for a government agency is a plus.
