About the Role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Work Study/Career Ambassador to support the University Career Services team. The role involves promoting events, assisting with career fairs and workshops, maintaining the career closet, designing promotional materials, and managing social media content. The position offers an opportunity for a student to develop skills in communication, marketing, and digital content creation within a metropolitan research university environment that values accessible education and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent Career Services positively and professionally.
  • Create, design, and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Respond to social media comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
  • Capture photos and videos at events for social media use.
  • Track engagement metrics and suggest content ideas.
  • Assist with planning, setup, and promotion of career events.
  • Greet attendees, manage registration, and help with event cleanup.
  • Post flyers and share event details across campus.
  • Support the Career Closet organization and inventory.
  • Attend trainings to build skills and stay informed.

Requirements

  • Current UA Little Rock eligible student.
  • Must have proof of award of federal work-study.
  • Eligible to legally work up to 20 hours per week in the United States.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Adequate in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative, adaptable, and willing to learn.

Nice to Have

  • Carry a minimum of 8 academic credits and have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and video editing.

Qualifications

  • Proof of award of federal work-study.
  • Eligible to work up to 20 hours per week in the U.S.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary of $11.00 per hour.
