About the Role

WorkForce Software, an ADP company, is hiring a Principal DevOps Engineer. Candidates should reside in the Eastern or Central time zone, United States. The role involves building innovative cloud solutions for automation, execution, and implementation of processes that deliver products quickly and reliably across cloud-based time and attendance solutions. The engineer will work closely with architecture and product development teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud initiatives, ensuring high availability and reliability of applications. This hands-on role requires experience in creating, executing, and troubleshooting end-to-end automation scripts for the cloud, migrating data, managing organizational change, and building automated, elastic cloud platforms over various IaaS providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily scrums to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities.
  • Serve as the point person for developers and operations to find solutions quickly, listening to their needs and sharing solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure developer code runs through automation scripts with no errors and can scale automatically for demand.
  • Design and implement extensions to existing DevOps and CI/CD tools to accelerate product deployment through automation.
  • Support engineers by troubleshooting issues and writing code to fix problems, demonstrating nimbleness and adaptability.
  • Work on products with new technologies, addressing challenges proactively, and embracing a fail-fast, safe approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
  • Expert-level skills in Python and Groovy.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, EKS, RDS, OCI, GCE, Azure.
  • Proficiency with containerization (K8S), orchestration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Helm Charts), clustering, and CICD tools.
  • Experience in creating, executing, or troubleshooting end-to-end automation scripts for the cloud.
  • Ability to migrate data and manage organizational change.
  • Comfort working with new technologies and solving complex problems.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in OCI, AWS/Cloud, and K8S/Containers.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps roles.

  • Base salary range: $79,800 - $213,930 per year.
