About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Business Development Team, Engineering, and Business Leaders to assist in identifying, analyzing, and planning for growth opportunities.
• Conduct research, identify trends, distill complex information, and present insights that drive decisions.
• Execute analytical market studies and follow technology trends.
• Map future customer needs to existing Newport capability.
• Input on technology/product roadmaps.
• Analyze competition and curate growth ideas, creating an analytical ranking process.

Requirements

• Rising senior in physics, optical, chemistry, biomedical, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
• Proficient in the Microsoft suite of business tools.
• Basic understanding of finance, technology, and data analysis.
• Availability for the entire internship period from May to August 2026.
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

Nice to Have

• Business background with a broad understanding of technology.
• Engineering background with curiosity to explore business.

Qualifications

• Educational background as a rising senior in relevant technical fields.

Benefits & Perks

• Hourly pay ranging from $22.00 to $29.00 per hour.
