About the Role

The Senior Director, Commercial Development Bioconjugates at Lonza is responsible for developing business plans to meet financial and commercial targets, playing a pivotal role in commercial leadership within the Bioconjugates business. The role involves working closely with sales, marketing, proposals teams, Portfolio Management, and site operations to prioritize projects and opportunities, and to shape Lonza's strategic growth in this sector.

Key Responsibilities

Shapes Lonza's strategic plan to grow its presence in the Bioconjugates business
Analyzes market areas, defines business models and terms for retention and expansion of existing customers
Works closely with sales lead and portfolio management to develop strategies to secure a pipeline of opportunities
Explores opportunities for innovative business models to differentiate Lonza CDMO Service from competitors
Develops retention and expansion strategies for customers in Lonza's development pipeline and manages the portfolio to minimize risk
Plays a key role in Market Development and elaboration of the market mix (strategic marketing) for Lonza Bioconjugates
Works effectively with Portfolio Management to develop short-mid-long term commercial objectives
Advises on both technical and business aspects of the portfolio of customers and products

Requirements

10+ years of experience
Clear and concise communication skills
Demonstrated leadership in a matrixed environment
Problem solving abilities
Strong program management and organizational skills
CDMO background with understanding of drug development process
Preferably drug substance and drug product experience
Customer focused and result oriented
Strategic thinking
Experience in CDMO operations
Geographically located in the US with approximately 40% travel expected, including customer visits, site visits, internal meetings, and industry conferences
