The position focuses on supporting large group clients, ensuring satisfaction, and identifying cross-selling opportunities within the employee benefits sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Sales Executive to ensure understanding of products and services sold to new PacificSource groups.
  • Communicate renewal information and coordinate with Sales Executive for renewals outside your block of business.
  • Negotiate renewals and complete documentation necessary for group implementation or renewal.
  • Consult with groups to inform them about products, procedures, health strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a resource for benefits, compliance, and plan information, ensuring clear communication among all stakeholders.
  • Attend internal and external meetings, share best practices, and identify potential issues for resolution.
  • Liaison with outside vendors providing services/products to groups, including PBMs, wellness programs, and benefit systems.
  • Develop strategic direction for employee benefit plans with groups and consultants, creating and executing roadmaps.
  • Present and review group reporting, identify trends, and propose actions to meet group goals.
  • Lead implementation and renewal meetings, review plan documents, and ensure accuracy of plan materials.
  • Negotiate with brokers and groups for renewals, follow up on renewal status, and develop benefit quotes.
  • Determine reasons for group terminations and record information for review.
  • Participate in group enrollment, employee benefit meetings, wellness fairs, and orientation sessions.
  • Serve as a contact and problem solver for contract issues, claims, and requests related to benefits.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and represent PacificSource at community and professional events.
  • Participate in benefit training programs and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in sales, account management, or employee benefits.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Current Life and Health Insurance License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Thorough understanding of insurance products, contracts, and health insurance industry guidelines.
  • Knowledge of underwriting models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and explain plans clearly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills and high integrity with confidential information.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to work independently and travel approximately 40-50%, including overnight visits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of PacificSource administrative procedures and healthcare industry.
  • Experience with public speaking and public relations.
  • Experience with benefit administration systems and ancillary programs.
  • Strategic thinking and resource management skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Life and Health Insurance License (must be obtained within 6 months if not already licensed).
