About the Role

The Account Executive role at Guardant Health is a field-based position focused on promoting and expanding the company's oncology diagnostic products within the Denver South, CO territory. The role involves working closely with healthcare providers, cancer centers, and academic medical centers to drive market sales strategy and business growth in the oncology diagnostics space, emphasizing liquid biopsy products and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major U.S. cancer centers, oncology practices, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and Academic Medical Centers (AMCs) within the territory.
  • Structure detailed strategic plans for gaining and retaining new and existing clients.
  • Maximize client-bill contracting opportunities and implement laboratory services agreements (LSAs) with bill account institutions.
  • Collaborate with all sales positions to ensure the successful attainment of company goals and objectives.
  • Identify and develop partnering opportunities between prospective oncology clients and Guardant Health.
  • Promote and drive compliance with new web-based molecular information tools for all clients.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape within assigned accounts to determine trends and provide customer feedback to leadership.
  • Monitor sales performance to ensure objectives are met.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the territory, including budgets, travel, and goal setting.
  • Work effectively across multiple departments and embody Guardant Health’s company culture.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of direct account management experience in a molecular diagnostic setting with proven past performance.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with major cancer centers, oncology GPOs, large health systems, IDNs, and large oncology practices.
  • Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company.
  • Ability to provide integrated MolDx solutions using Guardant Health's next-generation sequencing technology.
  • Experience in consultative selling, overcoming objections, and connecting client needs with company capabilities.
  • Comfortable communicating and presenting at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO).
  • Strong understanding of the payor and reimbursement environment in oncology and diagnostics.
  • Excellent knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted agents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks.
  • Frequent travel (over 50%) within the territory.

Nice to Have

  • B.S. in life sciences, biology, business, or marketing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life science, biology, business, or marketing (preferred).

  • US base salary range of $138,400 to $186,840, excluding benefits, bonuses, commissions, or equity.
