About the Role

The Sales Account Manager at Sun Chemical is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and growing share in the territory by expanding sales to existing customers and developing new business opportunities within North Carolina and South Carolina. The role involves optimizing the company's position by improving revenue and margin according to regional goals, staying current on market conditions, and orchestrating resources to meet customer needs. Sun Chemical, a leading producer of packaging, graphic solutions, and functional products, is part of the DIC Group, supporting a diverse global customer base with a focus on sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • All sales activities relative to their assigned accounts.
  • Developing a consultative, value-added strategy to optimize opportunities for growth within the territory.
  • Collaborating with internal resources including Manufacturing, Product Management, Technical Service, Regulatory, and Customer Service to provide the highest standard of service.
  • Acting as a gateway to Sun Chemical's market-leading technology for Inks, Coatings, Consumables, and sustainable products.
  • Learning and understanding the Customers Operating Reality and providing Voice of the Customer feedback to Sun Chemical.
  • Developing and maintaining account-level strategies, identifying key buying factors, stakeholders, decision makers, and influencers.
  • Partnering with the Regional Sales Manager to develop volume, revenue, and margin targets and strategize how to meet those targets.
  • Recognizing and understanding competitive threats and opportunities, developing strategies to protect existing customer base and capture new business.
  • Managing day-to-day territory needs through in-person and remote customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline, Business Administration, or other relevant area of study.
  • 5 years of successful sales or technical sales experience, preferably in the printing ink, flexible packaging, or commercial sheetfed industry.
  • Experience in Chemical Distribution Sales, Graphic Arts Sales, or Printing is highly desirable.
  • Track record of professional sales accomplishments.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, or other CRM software.
  • True “roll-up-the-sleeves and get it done/whatever it takes” attitude.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the printing ink, flexible packaging, or commercial sheetfed industry.
  • Experience in Chemical Distribution Sales, Graphic Arts Sales, or Printing.

Qualifications
