Job Description

About the Role

The Account Manager is responsible for the full oversight and management of a large janitorial contract, ensuring that the client's environment is safe, clean, and sanitized through best practices. The role involves serving as the primary point of contact for the client, coordinating and monitoring janitorial staff, managing supplies and equipment, and maintaining high standards of service. The Account Manager works collaboratively with the operations management team to ensure smooth contract operations and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise assigned contract's team of janitorial staff members, including scheduling, instructing, assigning workflows and tasks, and reviewing work.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, assist with onboarding new staff, and train staff on job methods, equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor staff performance, motivate and engage team members, provide feedback, and administer performance evaluations.
  • Develop cleaning schedules and ensure all tasks are completed on time and to standard.
  • Prioritize work tasks, adapt to changing circumstances, and re-prioritize as needed.
  • Represent US&S professionally, nurture client relationships, address issues or concerns, and perform quality inspections.
  • Ensure staff wear uniforms, employ safety protocols, and that the site is secure.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment needs, and safety incidents; assist in safety investigations.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and ensure timely repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Attend meetings and training to maintain and enhance skills.
  • Respond to inquiries, concerns, complaints, and requests related to responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work well with others and foster a positive team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify cleaning or maintenance needs.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to pass background screening, drug and alcohol screening, and obtain a security badge if needed.
  • Authorization to work in the US (E-Verify).
  • Minimum of 3 years employed in janitorial/custodial or similar role.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.

Nice to Have

  • 4+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position in the janitorial/custodial industry.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field.
