Job Description

About the Role

The Associate Director, Business Analytics role supports multiple customer groups and/or therapeutic areas & will be an expert in statistical methodologies for measuring marketing impact, with a broad understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and familiarity with industry data sources. This role involves using sophisticated analytics for projects such as marketing mix modeling, ROI analyses, customer profiling and segmentation, and predictive modeling. The position offers opportunities for international collaboration and contributes to the discovery, development, and delivery of products to patients and customers at Boehringer Ingelheim.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts advanced analytics to brand teams/customer channels in support of brand planning and promotional resource allocation, including digital and evolution of the commercial model.
  • Liaises between Marketing and Sales in the development of business tactics and strategies.
  • Leads the development of targets and segments aligned with business strategy.
  • Executes departmental procedures and collaborates within the organization to ensure marketing strategy is integrated into sales force call plans for in-person, virtual, and digital channels.
  • Communicates analytical results effectively to internal customers.
  • Builds and shares knowledge of analytical methodologies and high-quality vendors, including third-party digital agencies.
  • Establishes work habits to support the evolving process and execution needs of the therapeutic business function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of analytic experience with relevant data sources and methodologies, or Master's degree and five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in developing, documenting, and communicating analytical plans.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques including multivariate analysis and promotional responsiveness techniques.
  • Experience in customer identification and segmentation influencing marketing and sales strategy.
  • Experience in digital analytics (non-personal marketing tactics such as email, banner, mobile, and alerts) or related analytical fields with a passion for digital technology.
  • Experience analyzing campaigns and performing in-campaign analytics to improve performance.
  • Proficiency in R/Python and/or SAS, SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with analyzing campaigns and working with consumer marketing databases.
  • Experience coordinating insights from disparate functions such as marketing research and forecasts.

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree as specified.
  • Relevant data sources and analytical methodologies experience.
