Advanced Embedded Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and testing embedded systems, products, and services for land and air systems.
• Applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges.
• Leading the software development life cycle and providing technical leadership.
• Collaborating with hardware specifications and leveraging hardware interfaces in low-level software solutions.
• Securing buy-in on concepts and ideas through exceptional communication skills.
• Contributing to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
• 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within the facilities.
• Strong experience with embedded C/C++.
• Strong experience with Linux.
• Knowledge of general programming principles and optimization strategies in Assembly, C/C++, Python, Rust, Embedded Linux, or others.
• Willingness to dig into hardware specifications and leverage hardware interfaces.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative team orientation.

Nice to Have

• Agile experience.
• Software Development Leadership experience.
• Experience with Assembly, Python, Rust, or other programming languages.
• Knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
