About the Role

The Advisory Partner Business Development Director at Workday leads strategic relationships with Advisory Partners such as McKinsey, Korn Ferry, Bain, and Boston Consulting Group. They are responsible for shaping and executing global strategy and go-to-market initiatives with these partners, working closely with sales and account teams to define growth plans, develop sales plays and solutions, and deliver revenue targets. This role involves developing strategic collaboration initiatives, creating innovative solutions, and expanding market reach to accelerate revenue and create competitive advantages. The position is an individual contributor role with a focus on high-level partnership management and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic relationships with Advisory Partners including McKinsey, Korn Ferry, Bain, and BCG.
  • Shape and lead global strategy and go-to-market plans with Advisory Partners.
  • Define annual growth plans with Advisory Partners, including target markets and industries.
  • Develop sales plays, solutions, and enablement programs for Account Teams, Solution Consultants, Customer Experience, Customer Success, and Support colleagues.
  • Deliver on revenue targets and strategic milestones.
  • Shape strategic collaboration initiatives with Advisory Partners and develop new solutions and partner plays.
  • Coordinate across Sales, Product, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Partner organizations.
  • Operate with partner obsession and high judgment, taking ownership and accountability for exceeding targets.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working for an Advisory Partner (e.g., McKinsey, Korn Ferry, Bain, BCG) or in an Advisory Partnership role within a SaaS company.
  • 5+ years of experience in Partner Strategy or Business Development.
  • 5+ years working in or closely collaborating with Partnerships or Alliances within a technology organization.
  • Strong executive communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to structure and execute large, complex partnerships.
  • Experience engaging with executives and delivering large-scale greenfield opportunities.
  • Proven track record in leading partner relationships and generating revenue.
  • Experience implementing partner programs to increase pipeline and revenue.
  • Ability to influence sales organizations, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Organization and project management skills.
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree.

  • Experience working across matrixed organizations and complex sales environments.
  • Sales and/or Marketing experience supporting complex go-to-market initiatives.
