MFG BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and close new opportunities to expand the customer base and increase revenue.
• Collaborate with all related lines of business to improve manufacturing processes by integrating new methodologies and technologies.
• Develop and implement overall business strategy for new and expanded growth and brand loyalty.
• Provide strategic guidance and leadership to business partners to align processes and support best-in-class standards.
• Remain informed about market conditions, competition, new technology, government regulations, and supplier information relevant to the operation.
• Exercise negotiation skills to secure deals, ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty, and manage relationships.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends and gaps for strategic planning.
• Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
• Travel to Kroger locations as needed for stakeholder interface.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or experience equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing operations or corporate brand sales/promo planning.
• 5+ years leadership experience in food manufacturing, distribution, or retail.
• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project management.
• Solid understanding of value drivers and fundamentals in food manufacturing such as dairy, bakery, or grocery.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and train others.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to draw conclusions.
• Proficient knowledge of financial statements and budgets.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Understanding of organizational impacts from changes in business processes and technologies.
• Ability to analyze complex data and present effective reports.

Nice to Have

• Master's Degree in Business Administration.
• Experience collaborating on continuous improvement efforts for product quality and availability.
• Experience with portfolio management for assigned commodities.

Qualifications
