The role involves advancing decision-making quality across the business organization through strategic analysis, executing and improving analytics functions, and developing business intelligence capabilities to translate data into actionable insights. The position is focused on supporting the Food & Beverage or Corporate Partnerships & Premium Hospitality areas within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate data into digestible and informative business intelligence dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI, aligning dashboard design with organizational standards for cross-product consistency.
  • Approach business challenges and questions from a quantitative and analytical perspective, using data to improve processes and develop clear recommendations.
  • Synthesize and communicate actionable insights through written, visual, and interactive mediums.
  • Partner with Information Systems to identify opportunities to enrich and/or grow the customer database, drive data classification, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Identify, organize, analyze, and present data from sources including ticket sales, food and beverage sales, social media interaction, survey responses, performance media, email interaction, and additional sources for marketing applications.
  • Improve and maintain critical business functions including pricing, sales forecasting, business reporting, fraud monitoring, and customer behavior modeling for Food & Beverage.
  • Enhance back-end commissary operational efficiencies by leveraging location-level transaction and inventory data.
  • Maintain documentation and communication within the organization and with partners to ensure stability of core processes.
  • Coordinate with market research functions to develop initiatives that inform strategic decisions, including price sensitivity surveys.
  • Analyze and present data for applications such as ticket offerings, budget planning, and game day operations.
  • Drive data classification, accuracy, and accessibility to enable greater analytics efficiency.
  • Maintain reporting cadence between the Concessionaire and Club to communicate performance transparently.
  • Track new concepts, menu items, and initiatives to judge impact and recommend continuation or cessation.
  • Answer ad-hoc queries related to food and beverage in a timely manner.
  • Work across departments on promotions and sponsorships, providing information to assess impact.
  • Develop and advise on annual business plans and measurement strategies for Corporate Partnerships & Premium Hospitality.
  • Analyze and advise on renewal and new sales plans to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Lead processes managing pricing, inventory, sales pipelines, and overall business health.
  • Review trend analysis in ticket sales to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Gather feedback from sales and service staff and analyze market research to assess new revenue opportunities.
  • Support organizational initiatives by assisting with business intelligence tools and CRM usage.
  • Assist in growth of tool adoption and learning, and oversee test and learn efforts for targeted initiatives.
  • Build and maintain KPIs to quantify results, and develop a holistic understanding of data assets.
  • Support external collaboration with MLB and third parties to learn best practices and troubleshoot.

Requirements

  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Ability to translate data into dashboards and communicate insights effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with a quantitative approach to business challenges.
  • Experience analyzing data from sources like sales, survey responses, and social media.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Knowledge of data classification, accuracy, and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience in developing and managing business plans and sales strategies.
  • Ability to support and train team members on BI tools and processes.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in trend analysis and identifying revenue opportunities.
